Welcome!

Our mission at Shelton is for families and teachers to work together in the upbringing and formation of responsible adults, individuals that strive for attaining excellence whilst committing to serving others. At the same time our vision is focused on empowering future generations as they excel in life accompanied by the values of the Catholic faith. All in all, our hope is for our students to contribute positively to society with a spirit of innovation. Shelton Academy takes great pride in instilling human excellence, family values, and an unrelenting service to others.

Mentoring

From the beginning, the idea of creating a mentoring program was to assume the big task of forming our teachers to be our students’ guides. We need to understand the beautiful purpose of this mission: to help our families empower their children with the necessary tools that will enable them to become the main contributors to society, in the spirit of service and innovation. Our task as a school is subsidiary, for it is for the parents to educate and guide their children. However, as a school centered on the family as well as on the student, we are committed to helping our families achieve these powerful goals for their children.

Mentoring allows us to personalize our mission. It is the way we empower our students and the manner in which we help them fulfill their individual needs. Via one-on-one conversations, our mentors encourage students to strive for academic excellence, to embrace service towards others, and to be able to use their personal qualities to innovatively change the world around them. Mentoring ensures that each mentee feels understood, cared for, and positively challenged. Through regular one-on-one conversations with a well-trained and experienced faculty/staff member serving as their mentor, the student develops skills that will last a lifetime: striving for academic excellence, serving others, and developing the good habits that will allow them to be happy and to make a positive contribution to our world.

Spiritual Life

Education at Shelton Academy encompasses the use of the mind and soul. Religion is a required course at every grade level. The formation of our students based on Catholic values is a priority and is ever present throughout every activity. Masses are offered on several occasions during the span of the school year as well as regular opportunities to access the Sacrament of Confession, faculty and parent supervised service projects, and various charitable outreach programs that benefit those most in need within our community. These programs and opportunities allow students to materialize their faith into practice. Note that the prayers and Catholic traditions that are practiced at Shelton Academy are in accordance with the liturgical calendar.

Welcome from our President

Dear Parents,

It is a great joy to welcome you and your children to the 2025–2026 academic year at Shelton Academy. Each new school year is not only a beginning but also a renewal of our shared mission: to form students with a human, ethical, and Christian vision of life and work.

At Shelton Academy, our inspiration is Saint Josemaría Escrivá, who taught that ordinary work, done with love, has deep meaning. Work is not only a way to achieve results, but also a path to personal growth, to serving others, and to contributing to the common good. As he said, “Work is born of love, it manifests love, and it is directed toward love.” This vision reminds us that daily tasks, whether in the classroom, on the sports field, or at home can be transformed into opportunities for holiness.

Our commitment is to provide your children not only with academic excellence, but also with the formation of character, virtues, and faith. We want them to graduate as young men and women who live with integrity, generosity, and hope, ready to make a positive difference in the world. This requires high expectations, consistent dedication, and, above all, the spirit of family that unites parents, teachers, and students.

The culture of Shelton Academy is built in the details: in the care we give to learning, in the joy we cultivate in community life, and in the kindness shown in daily interactions. We are not simply building a school, but a home of integral formation, where joy, friendship, and Christian values come together to shape lives.

As we begin this academic year, I invite you to renew with us the mission of Shelton Academy: to help each student discover the dignity of work, the beauty of learning, and the joy of living for God and for others. Together, as parents, teachers, and students, we can make each day a step toward excellence and sanctity.

With gratitude for your trust and collaboration,

Sincerely,
Carlos E. Padula

Atentamente,
Carlos E. Padula
